What is Web Development?

Web development refers to building, creating, and maintaining a website. It includes aspects such as web design, web publishing, web programming, and database management. It mainly deals with the aspect of building websites, which includes coding, writing mark up and scripting. Web development is just a broad named used when a website is being created for the inetrnet or an intranet (private network). Web development can be a wide range of things from: web designing, web content development, complex internet applications, creating a buisness that will run electronically and that of social media services - "Web development can range from developing the simplest static single page of plain text to the most complex web-based internet applications, electronic businesses, and social network services. A more comprehensive list of tasks to which web development commonly refers, may include web design, web content development, client liaison, client-side/server-side scripting, web server and network security configuration, and e-commerce development."-Wikipedia.

Web development is not just done by any one person or tech genius, though it can be. But for buisness and orginizations, there can be teams of webmasters consting of upto a hundred. Smaller organizations may only require a single webmaster with a contract, or an individual needed a a secondary assignment to related job positions such as a graphic designer and/or information systems technician.

Here you are able to see the various coding going on within the development process of the website. Different codes represent different attributes on a web page. When complete, the web page will display certain things exactly the way it was coded for and will enable people to see these things.
